3%

Apparently, stabilizing global warming will cost a mere 3% of global GDP.  The question is: will we spend it for the common good or will it be appropriated?  Read the latest from the International Panel on Climate Change here.

Well, my personal opinion is doing this… this 3% is sort of like doing tax breaks.

If tax breaks are done correctly, the government tends to make MORE money due to the fact that more people spend more money, invest more money, and more business get started (hiring more people… to tax)….

So this 3% of global GDP… hmmmm… lets see… better overall health for workers (increased production even though they get same pay and less sick days), medical coverage is less, environment clean-up will no longer be a problem releasing lands that are currently used for garbage and other crap, more sea food…

ok I can’t think of anything else.

But I think the bottom line is that if we destroy the place we live, GDP will go down because we will be too busy just trying to survive.
